One of the top 3 restaurants in PH. While that doesn't say much, Fuel does a great job with service, beer, and food. The basement still smells a bit, so I just don't sit down there. The Michigan, chicken, cherry salad is probably the best in PH, it's hard for me to order anything else.

Wow. What a surprise. Our craft beer finder app led us here; showing a fantastic and unexpected tap selection. When we arrived, we found a row of top of the line stouts. Yum. In a bit of a time crunch, we quickly ordered the spinach dip and pulled pork salad. The pulled pork salad was amazing. Fresh greens, cornbread croutons, spicy ranch, and solid pulled pork. My husband and I split the salad, and had enough for lunch the next day. Service was good and the atmosphere was welcoming. On my next visit to Port Huron, I'll be back to try more of the menu and drink more beer!

This place had great food! The ribs fell right off the bone and their brisket sandwich was huge! The service was friendly and our waiter was wonderful. I would absolutely go back.

Top notch!! My wife and I have been here many times. The Fuel Mac and Cheese can not be beat! Great selection on beers and the price is right.

This is a odd review for me because this place could so easily be a "5" and one of, if not the best BBQ place I have tried in Michigan... yet I was left debating if giving them a "4" was too much and if I should end up saying "3". I hope the owners read this because a few tweaks (that I will point out) and they would be "OMG Great" BBQ We were traveling to Niagara Falls from West MI to celebrate our 10th anniversary and hit Port Huron about 6:30 on a Thursday. Wanting to gas up and eat before we crossed, I did what I always do...turned to Yelp for suggestions on a restaurant in Port Huron and Fuel Woodfire Grill jumped out at me because we both love BBQ, especially Brisket. So Fuel it was! We were seated promptly. Nice place. Katrina our waitress was SUPER NICE and did a great job. She probably salvaged a 4 from 3 just by being herself. I ordered the Lobster Corn Chowder which looked interesting. I think it was $4 for a cup, but in any event it was not expensive. It was VERY good. I didn't know what to expect but the thing that stood out is that they sprinkled a healthy amount of honest to goodness lobster meat over the soup after they dish it up. I mean, I have paid $10+ for Lobster Bisque at fancy places and had less actual lobster. It was very good. Definately would recommend that. It was not a cream based soup. Big chunks of potato, corn and lobster meat in a broth. Yummy. So far so good...oh...and they have a great beer list of MI brews on tap and in the bottle. I ordered a Bells Amber to drink while we waited for the main course. My wife had ordered the "One Meat Combo" (sounds funny to say but that is what it is called....they offer "Combos" with 1, 2 or 3 meats so if you get one meat it is a "One Meat Combo). She had Brisket from the Point (marbled end). At this point I need to add that I travel a ton for work and love BBQ so I have eaten it in all the BBQ Mecca's. Brisket in Texas, Pulled Pork in NC, Ribs in Memphis and Kansas City and everyplace in between. The regions have their own specialties for sauces (mustard based in SC, NC has vinegar and red pepper etc) So I know good sauce and I make my own from scratch when I smoke meats. I ordered a 3 meat combo of Brisket from the Flat (lean end), Turkey and 1/4 Rack of Baby Back Ribs. The wait was short and our entrees were out. I will start with the good. The Baby Back Ribs...they were GREAT. Cooked perfectly, tender, meaty without excessive fat and had a nice traditional BBQ Sauce on them. They were REALLY good. The Mac & Cheese Side dish was really good too. I ate all of mine and half my wife's (she focuses on the meat since she doesn't eat a lot) The Jalapeno added a bit of something different but was not overpowering at all. Just a good take on Mac & Cheese which is a staple side dish at most BBQ joints. The Turkey and the Brisket...those were a letdown though. But it would be sooooo easily to make them something to rave about. They were cooked to perfection. Tender and juicy. Whatever they do for time/temp is spot on. Cooked just right. But both were shockingly free of that "smoked" flavor. The turkey had a barely perceptible smoke flavor and a little bit of seasoning on the outer edge. The brisket? I could not detect any "smoke" or seasoning whatsoever. So both were lacking in flavor although cooked perfectly. I do briskets on my Weber grill over indirect heat using would chips at home and my wife commented about how my brisket is so much more flavorful.. I do a generous coating of dry rub and wrap it in plastic wrap and refrigerate them overnight. Then they get smoked over indirect heat. The first 2-3 hours is constant smoke adding wet and dry wood chips every 30 minutes...then I continue cooking them until done. So Fuel either needs to do a good dry rub (if they don't) or do something a little more powerful and let it sit on the meat longer. And they certainly need to find a way to generate more smoke over the meat. So I figured "the meat is bland but the BBQ sauce served with it will add flavor". I was wrong. We hated the sauce (I hesitate to call it "BBQ sauce") that came with the brisket and I did not like the sauce that came with the turkey either. So we ate our meat without using the sauce. I gave it a 4 because of the service, very good and reasonably priced Lobster Corn Chowder, good Mac & Cheese, great Baby Back Ribs and the fact that the other meats were perfectly cooked... but they really need to do more in the area of a seasoning rub and get a lot more smoke on their meats to give them flavor. And the Sauce Recipes should be shredded. You can find BBQ sauce recipes with ease on the internet. More/better dry rub/seasoning and more smoke on the meats and some experimentation with more traditional sauces and Fuel would be knocking it out of the park. I hope they take my words to heart because they have the makings of being the best BBQ in Michigan.

I don't live in this area, and thank goodness for that because the available options seem very slim. My girlfriend and I chose this place to dine because it was one of the very few restaurants in the area with a decent yelp rating. If this is considered a good restaurant, I'd hate to try a bad one. Both the service and the food were extremely disappointing. The "seat yourself"sign was up, and we took our booth. The waitresses proceeded to walk by us for 20 minutes, and probably would have continued to had not the busboy, while passing by, realized we hadn't been helped and told one of the waitresses to come over. Unfortunately, the service never improved, from getting the wrong sides with our meals to not checking up on us, and, when we finally caught her to ask her for a refill on our waters, our waitress filled up our waters with Sprite. The food was about on par with the service. While the burger was average, the cajun fries were extremely over-seasoned and the horseradish mashed potatoes were also overly peppered and inedible. If there is ever a next time through Port Huron, we will certainly be trying another restaurant.

Probably 3.5 stars. Ribs were good, but a little dry. Corn bread excellent, jalapeño Mac and cheese - excellent. Fries good. Service good. Would try again if in area.

The ambiance at Fuel is amazing! I love the wood floors and the high ceilings. I had the Slow smoked burger, warmed up on grill with homemade smoked cheese and crispy onions. Insane! I will have to go back to try something new. The overall service was good too.

Great food, service, and prices. They have one of the best hamburgers I have ever had. The 1/2 pound patty had excellent flavor, but it was not greasy. My husband said the Philly Cheese Steak did not taste like a true Philly Cheese Steak, but the meat was much better. It's not a large sandwich if you are really hungry. The other couple in our group loved their BBQ pulled pork dishes also. We have our taste buds set for the Apple Crisp with raspberry sauce for our next visit.

  • Mike M.

Pretty good BBQ restaurant. The prices are fairly inexpensive for the quality of food here. The ribs I ordered on a Sunday afternoon seemed like they were reheated from the day before, but still good flavor. Mac and cheese was just ok, not my favorite. The fried green beans were delicious, as was the pecan pie tart for dessert. The smoked cheesecake had a very strong smoky flavor that I don't think did the cheesecake any favors. The smoked turkey was great.

Another resteraunt that failed to impress me while up in Port Huron. Pros- commitment to getting an order correct, friendly staff and knowledgeable about the menu Cons - all food related. Cold and severely under seasoned horseradish mashed potatoes. Meats were lacking the love of a great pit smoker. Mac and cheese a bit to spicy for even me. Salad(traverse city version) was just ok. Sauces were well underwhelming to say the least. For a place that is trying to compare itself or having it's servers comparing food to Bad Brads, this place is no more then a 2 star BBQ place, but because the waitress worked hard to fix the mistakes and was so helpful, this is a 3 star BBQ joint. Unfortunately another resteraunt I think I will skip the next time in town.

Drove about 15 minutes from a local campground. Worth the drive. Ordered the pork chop dinner and was not disappointed. They offered a single or a double portion, after one bite I wished I had ordered the bigger portion. It was delicious! I also ordered a half salad which was definitely fresh and tasty. Price was a little higher than I usually spend. One suggestion would be to offer gluten free options for those with food allergies (such as whole corn tortillas instead of buns )

  • Dustin T.

If there were 1/2 stars in the rating system, I probably would've gone 4 1/2. But the value is what caused me to round up to 5 stars. First, the place itself is cool, the re-purposed building with hardwood floors, stamped tin ceilings and exposed brick happily reminds me I'm in an old port city that has some history and character. The draft beer list wasn't huge, but offered great variety - and I could get a 10oz 10% beer for under 5 bucks. Our sandwiches were solid, and the sufficiently spicy jalapeno mac and cheese was probably the highlight of the night, with the cornbread a close second. The Fuel fries are nothing special, just seasoned fries. I'd definitely return, cheers!

Delicious! Great service even though it was late and close to closing. Never felt rushed and even offered desert. Would definitely return!

We love love this place. The Panko breaded fish and chips (fueled fries) are just awesome. Their beer is excellent. Only the best on tap. Cocktails are generous, expertly made and inexpensive. The ambience is cozy-friendly and the service is excellent. We can also recommend the potato skins, cold smoked ribeye and prime rib. Probably my favorite place in port Huron or fort Gratiot. How could it not be?

Good food, and nice ambience ... Wood fired grill. Nice independent restaurant with good menu selection, right downtown, one block from the river.

The owner took the time to respond and apologize regarding my recent 2 star review. Maybe I was a little hasty, since previous visits were so good I will be giving Fuel another chance!

    (4)
  • Travis F.

The food is good! It took a slight dive for a moment probably due to changes in the kitchen, but I believe they're back on track. Great food, good service. A little more expensive for Port Huron, but not unjustifiably so.

  • Tricia H.

It's "OK." That's the only way to describe Fuel Woodfire Grill. The service was great, the food OK. But it just seems to be missing something. We sat in the room with the roll up garage-type door - and the room just seemed unfinished somehow. They do have an OK beer selection. But a place like this could really use more specialty beers as that's what they claim to be known for.

  • Nicole T.

Do not leave here without trying their cornbread!! Also beer flights!

  • Kim D.

Nice little restaurant. It was our first visit. The staff was friendly, but our server was not as attentive as she could have been. The food was good. The salmon on my Caesar salad was the best I've ever had. My husband has a brisket sandwich and horseradish mashed potatoes (they were too strong for me, but he liked them). Tried the Cajun fries, which were good but I think they would be better as a fatter fry. The server set our plates down and left. My husband's beer was empty then. She didn't return to our table until he had a few bites left on his plate. He would have enjoyed something to drink with his meal.. Overall a nice place with good food.

First time visitor and very impressed. I eat around the country and world and love good BBQ. I've overlooked this establishment for over a year completely based on the marketing (crazy I know). I ate the BBQ Pulled Chicken and was very pleased with my meal. Will visit again soon.

"Our first time here, the beer selection is awesome! They have lots of craft beers on tap. They service was great, everyone is very friendly. The food was great! We started with the smoked salmon dip with homemade pita chips, very good. We also had the prime rib and the two meat smoke plate with ribs. We will be back!

  • Melissa K.

Love, love, love this place! It is almost always our first choice. Homemade food that is amazing. The owner or manager always stops by to make sure everything is to our liking. Spinach dip is my fave. I love the warm bread that comes with them. Horseradish mashed potatoes and prime rib. My husband loves the cherry Faygo ribs and jalapeño Mac-n-cheese. We've been meaning to try the fresh donuts and ice cream, but never seem to make it to dessert.

Went for lunch recently. You've got to go with the pick two. Try the ribs and pulled pork. The Faygo black cherry barbecue sauce is pretty darn good. Nice to have different places like this in Port Huron. I'll go back.

Nice modern atmosphere downtown Port Huron..I think its a great addition for a smokehouse in this location and unique to the community. The service was solid and the Cornbread is nicely done....The brisket was a little dry and there was not much sauce so we could barely taste the "famous sauce". I felt if they want to be known as a classic smokehouse like the Union Woodshop in Clarkston that everything needed to be homemade, because the fries at Fuel Woodfire were the same as Mcdonalds so you almost have a mix of homemade and boxed food. My mom had the Pork Chop dinner with a double baked potato, her meal looked great and she said it was good. The desserts looked worth (homemade)a try but we were to full to try then. I would go back to try some more food for sure, I hope this restaurant can continue to look to become as unique and classic and continue to grow to drive more acticity and traffic into Port Huron.

  • Jody W.

Pulled Pork was OK. Flat cut brisket was dry as a bone and tough. Point cut brisket was so tough I had to spit it out. The sauce they brought was nothing but pure vinegar. Mac and cheese was good. corn bread was cold. We will not be back.

I had been staying in Port Huron many nights this fall for a class, bringing food from home to eat in my hotel room in an effort to avoid the overwhelming chain restaurant selection in town. On one of my last nights here I decided to try a couple local places, including Fuel. Oh my gosh, avoid the chains at all costs and come straight here! Delicious food, a good variety on the menu, and great craft beer on tap. I sat at the bar in the front of the restaurant since I was by myself, but it looked like they had two other rooms with plenty of tables, perfect for a date or a group! The service was great and I loved my fall-off-the-bone ribs. I actually got a combo of 1/4 rack ribs and pulled pork, served with a side of jalapeño mac and cheese and a piece of corn bread. I loved their mac and cheese! It was a little spicy but that went well with the creamy sauce, topped with crispy bread crumbs. Seriously, I can't say this enough, skip the chains and support this local (awesome) restaurant!

  • Becki B.

I love ribs, by far my fav food. But I hardly ever order them because usually restaurants screw it up or they come too fatty. Fuel has by far the best ribs I have ever had! I wish I could comment on more, but I find myself getting the ribs everytime, they are sooo good! Perfectly sauced, bone slides out perfectly, and they are very reasonably priced. I also love the potato skins, they put pulled pork, bacon, and a mound of cheese!! Not to mention the cornbread, I always get a skillet to go so I can serve it with a meal I make the next day. The service is always incredibly pleasant and very quick! Best restaurant in Port Huron! Hands down!!

  • Terry C.

Great atmosphere! I love to drink here, but the food is just ok. The BBQ chicken is the best of the meats here; pretty sad for a BBQ joint. Great beers, okay food. Mac n cheese is WAY overrated.

  • Eric P.

This was some of the best food I've ever had . The three choices of BBQ sauce was hard to choose from because all were made fresh and were good. Excellent service as well our waiter was on top of everything.

Good service. Plenty of space and a smoker that cannot cook a bad meal. Stay for the deserts :)

Glad to have another restaurant to visit! Went for lunch and had a good experience. I ordered the fish (Trout) and found that it was plated very plain. I expected more on my plate than just a fish. For my side I had the mac and that was great! Throw a small veggie with that fish and we will really have something to talk about. My dad got the combo platter he liked it. He said "This isn't like Slows BBQ but at least we don't have to drive so far."

I have visited this place 2 times. Once with a coworker and once with my family. Both time I have visited, I have been pleased with the service and overall experience of the waitstaff. I have tried the ribs, pulled pork sandwich, and the brisket. The ribs were super tender and fell off the bone. My wife loved these and she does not usually order ribs. The pulled pork the first time I tried was doused in the Faygo BBQ sauce which was not bad, but not rave worthy. The second time, it was served dry with some sauces on the side. I think serving this dry may be the way to go. The mix of sauces really helps. The brisket was ordered both times I visited. Both times I have enjoyed this selection. I am not a big fan over over the top smoky brisket. This brisket was not that way. Tasty. The mac and cheese with chilies and the cornbread with jalapeno is a nice taste to add to the meals. I would really like to see some more options on tap and maybe let some of that smoke smell waft back into the restaurant to remind folks that they are at a BBQ joint. I am glad this is another option in Port Huron. The downtown needs this sort of place to turn it around.

Ribs are meaty. They now have a choice of three sauces, Faygo Black Cherry is excellent. Nice touch of smoke to the meat. Tried the Smoked Trout as well which was very good and the baked whitefish had a very nice crust on it. I've also had the Pork Chops which are huge! The price on the menu looks a little steep, but you really do get two nice size chops. Yum! Andie, the bartender is among the best in town (she is my personal favorite) - she makes a mean Martini! Mark has recently joined the crew, so they definitely have two of the best b-tenders in town. Some of the waitstaff could use a little help. I'm glad to say they've stepped things up since my original review, from when they first opened.

I was in a party of four out for Saturday night drinks and snacks to share. It smelled amazing when we walked in. It was pretty quiet, but we were greeted quickly and made welcome. We looked at menus and decided to try the wings and stuffed potato skins. We each ordered a drink or two as well. The wait person was very friendly and knowledgable. He brought samples of a beer he thought we might be interested in. The food was very good. The wings were really big and had a good sauce. The potato skins had a layer of bbq pulled pork which was really good. Odd though, to get 3 potato halves. Who got our extra half? We had a very good time and would defintely go back and try something else. I love the new restaurants and (sorta) nightlife downtown!

This business is just getting off the ground. I head their advertising on the radio and looked them up for supper last night. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt since they are so new. No sign saying to wait or to seat yourself so we sat at an empty table. The waitress came by and asked if we'd seated ourselves. We said yes, and she said no problem but it would be a minute. That's all it was. We had menus and gave her a drink order about a minute later. They have a full bar with some signature cocktails. Good microbrew selection, Bells Oberon on tap with a 20 oz at $5, but also a 20 oz Genesee Cream Ale for just $2.50. Nice that there is a light-on-the-wallet tall draft available. There is a good wine list too. We had the lobster corndog appetizers and they were killer. Expensive but worth it. For the entree I had chicken and the Mrs. had trout. Nice meals, nice sides, and I don't know what they do to that cornbread but ouch! Wish I knew how to make it like that. I want to go back and try the pulled pork sandwich. Nice chic decor. Bare brick walls, so a bit noisy with all the sound bouncing around. Big screen TV over the bar. There is another dining room downstairs but I didn't see it. Most of the tables/booths upstairs were two or four tops. I wouldn't bring kids here, but hey, I'm sure they'd be welcome. It's nice to see something come to town besides national chains. Good job here.

It is wonderful having new non-chain options in Port Huron, new business downtown, and real barbecue. And with the exception of a few hiccups...Fuel has great potential. The good: The service was attentive and friendly. The decor was nicely understated with exposed brick, dark wood and black booths. The entire place smelled deliciously of smoke. The mac and cheese was well balanced and had great texture. The smoked trout was perfectly smoky and succulent. The skillet corn bread was lightly sweet with nicely crunchy edges and a moist interior. The dessert donuts were large and a generous portion served warm and melt in your mouth. The traverse city salad was beautifully presented and my co-diner thought it was tasty and generously sized. Prices are quite fair. The could be improved: The lobster corn dogs. Two to an order. Each was one lobster claw dipped in something between corn dog batter and tempura. Unfortunately it was not crispy and too greasy (perhaps fried at too low a temperature?) but the mustard sauce and accompanying greens were nice. There are plenty of other quite interesting sounding starters. The smoked trout had skin and fins on, none of which was edible/appetizing. The presentation of the trout/mac and cheese left a bit to be desired. The skillet for the corn bread left some very dark slightly off tasting oily spots on the bottom of the corn bread. The chocolate ice cream that came with the donuts had chunks of ice inside it and had a bit of freezer taste. Beer selection...there were 2 beers on tap. Neither of them were local, which is a damn shame with Quay Street Brewery a block away. Overall, I was pleased. The complaints were not evening ruining and I'm hoping with time Fuel will prove to be a long lasting downtown gem. I will be back, and soon

Food is always excellent. Rib meat fell off the bones and the signature BBQ sauce is delicious. Only complaint is it is always noisy/echoes in restaurant, making it hard to hear

I'm torn between a 2 or a 3 star, wish there were 1/2's. That being said, I went there last night because I had received a BOGO coupon in the mail and thought my friend and I would try it. We were seated pretty much right away in the basement part of the restaurant. I had not been in this part of the restaurant when it was the Black River Cafe so I was glad that I would get to see this part of the restaurant. I wouldn't say that it was anything spectacular. I will warn you though that it does have that musty damp smell to it like most unfinished basements. The smell did affect my dining experience. As far as the food, we both ordered the ribs with the signature sauce. Since I had read in a prior review that the ribs were good, I was excited to try them for myself. Unfortunately, the service seemed a little like a 3 stooges act. Between our table and the table behind us, there were four servers trying to figure out which four plates belong to whom. One of the plates had mac n cheese on it (which nobody ordered) and the servers were bent on giving the mac n cheese to somebody. It all seemed to be a little disorganized. When they finally got the plates served, both tables realized that the food was very much on the lukewarm side. We did not send it back as we just wanted to eat at that point. I will say that the flavor was good. Would I go back, probably. I have another BOGO for lunch and I may give it one more chance.

We finally decided to try this new place in downtown port huron. By the time we left we wished we would have come sooner. People had told us that the blackened salmon and ribs were amazing...That has now been confirmed, easily the best salmon we both have ever encountered. And the ribs far exceed any other place in the port huron area. Cornbread and jalapeno mac n cheese are not to be missed...only downer for us was desserts. tried many and not worth the room...eat more cornbread!

Priced very well (avg. meal about $15), friendly staff, very clean enjoyable spot to have a meal with your date and/or friends! I really enjoy non-chain restaurants and this is a great addition to the port Huron area. Can wait to go back.

Ate here with a large group from work on a Thursday night. We were sequestered in the basement section, which was good because we could all talk comfortably. We had two servers attending us, which was glitchy at first but ultimately worked very well. The food here skews to heavy (smoked meats and smoked cheese), but Fuel's take on Lobster Corn Chowder was light, with no creamed-corn gooeyness. The skillet cornbread was a bit dark but quite tasty, and my entree (Filet Mignon) was properly cooked to order, very nice and accompanied by two good side dishes. My comrades ordered dishes ranging from the slab of ribs to the buttermilk chicken to the NY Strip, and everyone was pleased. [I will say not everyone was a fan of the Corn Chowder.] I appreciated having Bell's Oberon on tap, and though my waitress was not terribly knowledgable about the microbrews being offered, she did go investigate upstairs and give me a report on the other draft beer, the Genesee Cream Ale. I opted for Bell's. The pineapple martini was on the sweet side but also pleasant. What impressed me most was the pacing-- perhaps it was a fluke, but for such a large group, it felt like everything came to the table at the right time, neither rushed nor laggy. In spite of a substantial meal plus drinks, I felt feeling comfortable and satisfied, rather than feeling stuffed. All in all, not revelatory, but we all had a highly enjoyable experience. Prices were reasonable.

Had the chicken sandwich, I wasn't sure about the bacon hash, but I am definitely now a fan. The lobster corn dogs were disappointing for the price ($10 for 2) would have them again if they increased the quantity or lowered the price. Drinks were very reasonably priced. Glad to see Port Huron is finally getting some quality restaurants downtown. Definitely will visit again!

Good food and friendly service. I would definitely recommend, especially for the price. And while i am still a firm believer that the bbq southeast and in ks trumps all, the ribs at fuel are definitely good. Great amount of tenderness ( just firm enough to stay on the bone till you eat it) and good flavor! The steak was tasty as well.O

As good as it gets. I had the brisket and pulled pork, both were exceptional. The real surprise was in the sides - Mac and cheese and corn bread - different than others but very tasty, they were lighter and just a tad spicy.

Was looking forward to an early dinner. Heard good things about the place. Reviews looked promising. Boy were we disappointed. Staff was great. Beer was good but the food was awful. We had the fish an chips. The fish was obviously frozen and freezer burnt. I'm still burping up up the awful seaweed taste. The cornbread muffin I could have done the same at KFC and the Mac an cheese, Stouffer's is just as exciting. Really was disappointed.

Can't remember when I had BBQ this good. Ordered the lobster chowder 3.50 (nice fresh lump meat and great taste). Main entree was the two meat dinner $12 (baby back ribs & pulled pork). Both fantastically prepared and cooked. They brought me 4 different sauces (apricot, mustard, smoked & one other) to compliment. All were above average. Meals come with jalapeño mac&cheese served in a small skillet. All the above goodness accompanied by a nice Bells beer $28 with tip. Don't miss this place, I'll be back......

We called this place with a party of 12 on real short notice on a Saturday night and they got us a space downstairs that was perfect. The bbq was great, both the pork and the brisket and the service was excellent. Definitely a great dinner stop in Port Huron.

I have been to Fuel several times and each time I go it gets better! Tonight I had the chopped brisket and pulled pork. It was perfect! The mac and cheese is easily the best around. The service was great and we didn't have to wait long to get our food. This was our New Years Eve family dinner and it was the perfect way to end 2013! A must visit!

Solid 4. Very good food. Had the pulled pork sandwich, ask for extra sauce on the side. The cornbread was really rockin with bits of corn and jalapeño. The fries have a nice seasoning to them Service was fast and courteous. Prices are very reasonable Cool Main Street feel with a wall that opens up to the outside on nice days. Glad I stopped in on my way through town

Found this place while looking for nice different place to eat in Port Huron. Read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It ws easy to find too. The decor was nice. We liked the brick walls. The wsit staff was great and friendly. My husband and i each had the combo bbq with two diff meats so we could try all of them. I got the cherry faygo bbq sauce on the ribs. It was real good. Wish i couldve tried them all though. As or the meats-the ribs were out of this world, the brisket was pretty good but im not a huge brisket fan anyway; the pulled chicken and pork were superb! We didnt eat the corn bread cause there was so much other food but it looked great. But the thing that stood out the most for us was the jalapeno mac n cheese and also the spinach n artichoke dip with pita wedges. These were sooo good! On top of that the prices were very reasonable. We wouldve paid same amount at Any plain old restaurant. Overall a superb place to visit. We will be back for sure.

Decided to try this establishment based on the overall positive Yelp reviews. I was disappointed to say the least. The Service - Started off pretty good. We were seated promptly, drink orders taken and questions about the menu were answered. A new waitress showed up and said she would be taking care of us now and they were out of chocolate milk for our Son. I'm not a big fan of the old waitress switch, especially when your original waitress seems to be so much more concerned about her tables then your new waitress about hers. I swear our waitress was orbiting around the dining area and didn't check in on us until she had to deliver the food. After recieving the food, there wasn't even the obligitory "how is everything tasting" or "can I get your anything else". The Food - My ribs were rocket hot! I think someone nuked them. I was hoping for low and slow, not steaming and screaming. The brisket and cornbread were dry and I can see why they give you a small cup of sauces to rehydrate the brisket. The mac and cheese wasn't really cheesy, but more of a soup with Panko crumbs on top. My Wife's philly cheese steak was just okay. Her words were "The meat seemed weird". On a positive note, my Sons cheeseburger was quite tasty, but his french fries were the saltiest things I have ever tasted in a restaraunt. Trust me, I like salt alot, but these bad boys stopped me dead in my tracks. I wouldn't be stealing any more fries from my Him this night. I like the decor, I like the bar, but there are areas for improvement here. Either We ordered the wrong items or it was an off night for the staff and cooks. The goal of the resteraunt should be to get us to come back a 2nd time, but sadly that's not going to happen. If you came here seeking Barbeque and were let down, I suggest you take I94 to 23 Mile and seek out Bad Brads Barbeque.
